    Fundraising plan: Summer Term 2022

At Prince Rock we value to opportunity to help others less fortunate than ourselves locally, nationally and internationally. With that in mind, and with the help of the School Council, we have planned which charities we will support this term up until the end of the school year to ensure that our fundraising campaigns are spread out and so you know in well in advance how you can support these worthy charities. As always, any donation however small is welcomed, though if you are unable to donate please do not worry!

  • Sports Day Cancellation

Mon 12 Jul 2021 Ms Brake

    Dear Parents,

It is with great regret that we have made the decision to move our sports day events to the school playground. This means that parents won’t be able to attend and we know this will be very disappointing for a lot of you. We will create some videos to share with you of the children enjoying their activities. All children should wear their sports kit tomorrow.

We have made this decision based on a few factors:

    · Not all of our year groups are in school this week due to a small number of children testing positive for COVID-19 and other children needing to self-isolate. This is not a situation unique to Prince Rock but is being experienced across the city and nationally.

    · Because of the self-isolation situation, we have staff who are not in school and this was making it increasingly difficult to have the ratios needed for an event off-site.

    · A group of travellers have moved onto the field next to the one we use. We have been in contact with Plymouth City Council about this and they have told us that more people are arriving today. We are, therefore, unsure what the situation will be with this tomorrow and our risk assessment suggests we should not use the public field.

Once again, we are sorry that you will not be able to attend. We are looking forward to next year when, hopefully, we will be able to enjoy a more normal year and welcome parents back to school events.

Please phone the school if you have any questions.

    Kind regards,

    Ms C. Brake

  • Monday 12th - It's Coming Home!

    Fri 09 Jul 2021

Option to come in late on Monday 12th July

If your child is a football fan and planning to watch the game, you are welcome to let them stay in bed a little longer on Monday and come to school for 10.30am.

School will still start at the normal time (and breakfast club will still be open) but children arriving up to 10.30 won’t be marked as late and they won’t miss any lessons.

It’s 55 years since England reached a major football final so we’d love them to have the chance to watch and celebrate. We’re hoping for a win but getting to the final is something to feel proud about whatever happens.

    Come on England!

  • Fit and Fed

    Tue 22 Jun 2021

Plymouth City Council has received funding from the Department for Education to coordinate a city-wide holiday activity and food programme during the 2021 Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays to support families with children who receive free school meals. The Fit and Fed programme in Plymouth is being managed by the Sports Development Unit who have been coordinating holiday programmes in the city for over six years.

    Fit and Fed Holiday Clubs

Our summer holiday club programme aims to support children on free school meals and will provide a safe and fun environment, where they can experience a wide range of amazing activities including sports, dance, arts and crafts, forest skills and much more. Every child will also receive a healthy nutritional meal or packed lunch each day.

There are over 70 free clubs taking place across the city at different times and for different age groups. The holiday clubs are funded to provide four weeks of free activities for children on free school meals. Children can attend the same club for four weeks or visit a different club each week. Spaces can be booked directly with the holiday club, on a first-come first-served basis.

Booking details and more information on all the holiday clubs available can be found in the Summer Activities Brochure below.
