    WORLD BOOK DAY 2023

    Dear parents and carers,

This year, we are celebrating WORLD BOOK DAY on Friday 3rd March. We have lots of wonderful events planned to celebrate the day!

    COSTUMES

Our theme is TRADITIONAL TALES. The children will need to come to school dressed as a character from a traditional tale. Below are some suggestions:

    • Little Red Riding Hood
    • Goldilocks
    • The Three Little Pigs
    • The Billy Goat’s Gruff
    • Jack and the Beanstalk
    • The Little Red Hen
    • The Gingerbread Man
    • The Enormous Pumpkin
    • Rumpelstiltskin

There are many more to choose from! 😊

    BOOK DONATION

We are always looking to improve our school library so that the children have a range of wonderful books to read. So, we are holding a book donation from Monday 27th February. If you have any books that you would like to donate to school, please pass these onto your child’s class teacher and we can add them to our classroom and school libraries. Thank you in advance for any contributions.

    BOOKMARK COMPETITION

We are completing a design your own bookmark competition! The templates will be sent home on Friday 24th February! The winner will receive their very own book to keep and share with you at home!

    ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE DAY

During World Book Day, the children will be completing free writing linked to Goldilocks, sharing stories with children from other classes, completing activities to promote a love of reading and taking part in live World Book Day activities.
