PIAS are delivering information sessions both in person at Jan Cutting Healthy Living Centre and also online.

WORLD BOOK DAY 2023

Dear parents and carers,

This year, we are celebrating WORLD BOOK DAY on Friday 3^rd March. We have lots of wonderful events planned to celebrate the day!

COSTUMES

Our theme is TRADITIONAL TALES. The children will need to come to school dressed as a character from a traditional tale. Below are some suggestions:

• Little Red Riding Hood
• Goldilocks
• The Three Little Pigs
• The Billy Goat’s Gruff
• Jack and the Beanstalk
• The Little Red Hen
• The Gingerbread Man
• The Enormous Pumpkin
• Rumpelstiltskin

There are many more to choose from! 😊

BOOK DONATION

We are always looking to improve our school library so that the children have a range of wonderful books to read. So, we are holding a book donation from Monday 27^th February. If you have any books that you would like to donate to school, please pass these onto your child’s class teacher and we can add them to our classroom and school libraries. Thank you in advance for any contributions.

BOOKMARK COMPETITION

We are completing a design your own bookmark competition! The templates will be sent home on Friday 24^th February! The winner will receive their very own book to keep and share with you at home!

ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE DAY

During World Book Day, the children will be completing free writing linked to Goldilocks, sharing stories with children from other classes, completing activities to promote a love of reading and taking part in live World Book Day activities.

If you are baking for our charity bake sale this Friday 3rd February, please do not include any nuts in the recipe as we are a nut free school. This also applies to shop bought bakes. Please check labels carefully to ensure no nuts. Thank you!

On Wednesday 1st February, Prince Rock will be partially closed. Please see the email which has been sent to all parents/carers. This will provide further information. 

We are proud to be supporting the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. This week, school council members will be selling paper poppies and a selection of other items to raise money for this special cause. Children may bring 50p-£1 in a named envelope, to be given to their teacher in the morning.
