    Mon 04 Mar 2024

    Dear parents and carers,

Please visit the page below to read or listen to a PowerPoint presentation which explains the Phonics Screening Check that your child is required to complete in June this year. If you have any questions after reading or listening to the PowerPoint, please speak to your child's class teacher.

This information has also been sent via email. If you have not received this email and your child is in Y2, it means your child does not have to retake the check.

    Many thanks,

    Miss McMillan

This year, we are celebrating WORLD BOOK DAY on Thursday 7th March. We have lots of wonderful events planned to celebrate the day!

    COSTUMES

Our theme is ANY BOOK CHARACTER OR PYJAMAS. The children will need to come to school dressed as a character from a traditional tale. There will be a prize for the most imaginative costume in each class!

    BOOK SALE

Our school council will be running a book sale at lunchtime on Wednesday 6th (KS! playground) and Thursday 7th (KS2 playground) March. They will be selling pre-loved books for small contributions (ranging from 10p-50p). If your child would like to buy a book, please send them in with money in a named envelope on one of these days. If you have any books at home that you would be willing to donate, the school council would be very grateful. Please bring these in by Friday 1st March.

    ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE DAY

The children will be taking part in a range of activities throughout the day. Please ask them what they have been up to!

  • Netball Event 2024

    Wed 07 Feb 2024

    Netball Event

Ethan, Mohammed, Liv, Mia, Macy, Keleigh and Eliya all took part in an exciting Netball event at Lipson alongside our friends in another LAT school, Salisbury Road. To begin with the students took part in some training drills led by the sports leaders. Throughout these drills, they all learned valuable techniques in the game of netball and when they should be using the techniques within the match. After the drills, the matches commenced in which everyone took part in playing new roles and positions on the court. Collaboration and team work were also a big part of the afternoon's events. All of the students performed very well and, most importantly, they had a smile on their faces the whole time!

On Monday, Eliya, Matei and Mia in Year 6 took part in this year's Youth Speaks event organised by the Rotary Club. They wrote, rehearsed and delivered an excellent speech about deforestation and wowed the judges with their wonderful oracy skills. They achieved a fabulous second place in the area round of the competition and were complimented on their performance. A huge well done to our Prince Rock orators!
