  • Safety Alert - Hacking Toys!

    Mon 27 Nov 2017

Watch our video below to see just how easy it is for anyone to take over the voice control of a popular connected toy, and speak directly to your child through it. And we’re not talking professional hackers. It’s easy enough for almost anyone to do. But the robot in our video below is not the only connected toy parents need to be wary of this Christmas. With toys like these and other connected toys expected to be popular around Black Friday and Christmas, we’re calling for smart toys to be made secure, or taken off sale entirely.

  • A Special Invitation

    Fri 15 Jan 2016

We have a special invitation for all parents/carers! Each spring and summer term, every class shares their learning with you in a class/year group assembly. The children always love taking part in these assemblies. They show different examples of their reading, writing and maths. The children also often perform a dance, some drama or a song. It is always so lovely to see so many of you there and the children are always proud to share what they have been doing in school.

The times and dates for each year group are written on the back of the newsletter. The assemblies start at 2.30pm and are performed in the downstairs hall.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

  • Make a Noise!

    Fri 20 Nov 2015
This week has been Anti-Bullying week. The children have been taught the acronym STOP to refer to bullying (several times on purpose). The children have taken part in a range of issues including a visit from a local police officer, learning about cyber bullying and e-safety as well as producing some fantastic posters. The closing date for the poster competition is Tuesday 25th November. Please see your child's class teacher if you would like more information.
  • Head Lice

    Thu 19 Nov 2015

It has been brought to our attention that we have some children in school with head lice. We understand that it can be very frustrating as a parent to have to retreat your child’s hair. As a school, our responsibility is to make sure that parents have up to date information about how to both treat and prevent head lice. We would like to encourage ALL parents to read and follow this advice to help to reduce the spread of head lice at Prince Rock. Further advice can be found at: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Head-lice/Pages/Treatment.aspx.

  • Harvest Assembly

    Fri 09 Oct 2015
A letter went out earlier this week about our Harvest Assembly on Tuesday. Any donations of tinned food, packets of mashed potato, long life milk and fruit juices would be much appreciated.
We are donating them to the Plymouth Foodbank. Thank you.

  • The Future

    Fri 25 Sep 2015
At the end of last term, the governing bodies of both Prince Rock Primary and Salisbury
Road Primary School formally met and committed to continuing to work together in the
future. During the next term we will be exploring how this might look in reality and we
will try to keep you fully informed at every stage. However this works and what ever this
finally looks like, we will of course make sure that we continue to do the very best we
can for all of the children in our care. Watch this space!
