Today, we will be completing our final art lesson. Last week, you designed two contrasting mosaics and began creating the first one. Today, you need to complete the second mosaic and complete the evaluation. Within the evaluation, you will be asked some key questions which will help you think about the designing, creating and final piece of art work.

In our live review today, we will be exploring the importance of charity work. We will explore the importance of aid work around the world as well as charity within our own lives. Your task is to think of a fundraising idea and create a poster to show how you would raise money for charity.

Lesson 4 – Science

During our science lesson, we will be considering two key words: mass and weight. After learning about mass and weight, you will calculate the weight of a dog on different planets. There are some optional challenge questions which would be great for you to unpick.  

 

Lesson 5 – Computing

In computing, we will be looking at examples of unsafe online behaviour and explore the possible consequences. We will then be explaining how to apply online safety rules to a scernario which we have planned. In the next lesson, we will create a storyboard of our chosen scenario.

Today, we will be completing our penultimate art lesson looking at mosaics. The focus of the lesson is going to be on designing two contrasting mosaics and we will be thinking carefully about our use of symmetrical shapes and colours. Once this is complete, you will begin making your mosaic. Next week, you will complete your design and evaluate your two mosaics.

In today’s RE lesson, we are looking closely at one of the Five Pillars of Islam. We will be exploring why charity and zakat is important to Muslims. In addition to this, we will be reflect on charity and generosity within our own lives. 

 

Lesson 6 – Computing

In today’s lesson we have to think about the importance of being a responsible and respectful digital citizen. You need to research top tips for being a responsible and respectful digital citizen and then make a poster to show your findings. Don’t forget to include your own top tips!

For art this week, we are going to continue to explore our work on mosaic patterns. Today, the children will begin thinking about symmetry and the use of colour within symmetry. We hope you have had a lovely Christmas and New Year! We are so sad that we are unable to return to school with you all but we hope you are keeping safe at home and we will see you soon. 
 

Below you will find all of the learning for today and we will update this page every day. From next week, we will have a quick morning session on Microsoft teams (9.35am) where we will explain the learning for the day and a quick review in the afternoon (1.15pm).
