Lesson 1 - English

In writing, we will continue to explore our Oliver Twist narrative writing unit. In our lesson today, we are going to be having a quick lesson which is all about spelling the ee sound as ie or ei. Lesson 2 - Whole Class Reading

For whole class reading today, we are going to be exploring a piece of text called ‘How the Kangaroos got Their Tails’. Today’s lesson is going to be focused on retrieval and prediction. You will have an image which you can discuss with your grown-ups and then some simple retrieval questions and one prediction. We will be talking about this in the afternoon so you will be able to share some of your thoughts.

 

Lesson 3 - Maths

Today, we will continue our work on Multiplication & Division. We will be multiplying 4-digit numbers by a 2-digit number. Attached is a multiplication grid to help you check your times tables today. In today’s art lesson, you will be exploring Islamic art and looking at three different types. Shapes are used within Islamic art and you are going to create a picture using your chosen shape and colours.

In writing, we will continue to explore our Oliver Twist narrative writing unit. In our lesson today, we are going to be developing our vocabulary and considering the choice of language. We will be specifically looking at nouns and adjectives, verbs and adverbs to help you with your descriptions. Lesson 2 - Whole Class Reading

For whole class reading today, we are going to be exploring a piece of text called ‘How the Kangaroos got Their Tails’. Today’s lesson is going to be focused on retrieval and inference to understand the text well we will review the six key words again through the beep game. The challenge is optional.

 

Lesson 3 - Maths

Today, we will continue our work on Multiplication & Division. Before moving onto multiplying bigger numbers by 2-digit numbers we would like to consolidate your understanding of multiplying 3-digits by 2-digits in this lesson. The worksheet is different from yesterday and has a mixture of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions. The video is the same as yesterday so you can watch it again (if needed) to see how to solve these calculations. Lesson 6 – PSHE

In PSHE today, we are going to be exploring different jobs and professions. We will reflect on the different job roles and professions in our society and their contributions to our lives.

  • Genre
  • Rating (out of 5 stars)
  • Why you enjoyed it
  • Who do you think would enjoy reading (people who are interested in…).

In today’s RE lesson, we are looking closely at one of the Five Pillars of Islam. We will be exploring why charity and zakat is important to Muslims. In addition to this, we will be reflect on charity and generosity within our own lives. 

 

Lesson 6 – Computing

In today’s lesson we have to think about the importance of being a responsible and respectful digital citizen. You need to research top tips for being a responsible and respectful digital citizen and then make a poster to show your findings. Don’t forget to include your own top tips!

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas and New Year! We are so sad that we are unable to return to school with you all but we hope you are keeping safe at home and we will see you soon. 
 

Below you will find all of the learning for today and we will update this page every day. From next week, we will have a quick morning session on Microsoft teams (9.35am) where we will explain the learning for the day and a quick review in the afternoon (1.15pm).
