Mini Red Tennis Tournament

A huge well done to the four children then compete in the Mini Red Tennis tournament at the Life Centre on the 7th June 2017. The children worked well in their pairs and tried hard.

Here is a summary of the event from the PSSP:

"10 teams competed in the Mini Red Tennis tournament on the 7th June at the Life Centre to earn their spot in the Level 3 games at the end of this month.

The game is split into four with 2 boys and 2 girls from each school playing singularly in a round robin format. Their score from each game will get added together to determine an overall winner between the two schools. This is then continued throughout and the schools were placed, with the top 2 from each pool making it into a final round.

There were some incredibly close scores for some schools and each athlete played incredibly showing great sportsmanship after each game.

Teams who attended were:

  • Oreston
  • Ford
  • Marine Academy
  • Compton
  • Kings
  • Prince Rock
  • Old Priory
  • Woodford

After the round robin stages the top four teams to go through were Oreston, Kings A, Woodford and Compton A. The final two matches, like all the others were very close again however Kings School just took the lead against Oreston and Compton just edging up against Woodford.

Congratulations to the 4 schools who will be competing in the Level 3 games!

1st- Compton A

2nd- Kings A

A massive well done to everyone who competed, a huge thank you to our fantastic Sports Leaders from Sir John Hunt and Ben Knight for running the event.
