Prince Rock Personal Best Challenge
This year, the Learning Academies Trust have introduced a Personal Best Challenge to encourage all the children (and staff) at Prince Rock to challenge themselves and improve their fundamental skills. It also encourages everyone to work on their perseverance, self-belief and determination skills. The six main activities that we are focusing on for this year are:
Throwing & Catching
Bean Bag Throw
Foundation children will have a chance to beat their ‘Personal Best’ during activity time and P.E. lessons when appropriate. KS1 & KS2 children will have a chance to beat their ‘Personal Best’ during their play times and their P.E. lessons when appropriate.
The children's scores will be recorded by the 'Year 5 Personal Best Sports Leaders'.
The children can also record their own score on their Prince Rock Personal Best Passport.
Personal Best Training
On Friday 19th October 2018, five of our Year 5 children went to Shakespeare Primary School to receive training for the Personal Best Challenge. They collaborated with children from other schools in the Learning Academies Trust. The children will use what they have learnt to help our teachers run the personal best challenge and ensure that the five activities run smoothly. The children commented on how much they enjoyed themselves and how they can't wait to get started! One of our leaders said, "I want to start now, I don't want to wait until after half term!".
