KS1 Gymnastics Festival

On Tuesday 3rd March a group of children from years 1 and 2 represented the school at the KS1 Gymnastics festival at Coombe Dean school. They took part in a range of events including jumping, climbing, rolling and balancing. The children had a fantastic time and were incredibly proud of themselves when they returned to school. Miss Pearce was also approached by someone leading the event, who was particularly impressed by the children’s behaviour and overall effort in every activity! A huge well done!

A message from the organiser of the event:

We have had a fun morning at the KS1 Gym festival held at Coombe Dean School. The children have been climbing, rolling, balancing, jumping, swinging, cartwheeling and handstanding.  Most of the children agreed that the monkey bars was their favourite activity whilst others enjoyed the success of performing a handstand against the bars or moving like a gymnast across the beam.  Whatever their preference there were alot of smiles!  Thanks to the following schools for attending: Prince Rock, Mary Deans, Yealmpstone Farm, Elburton, Pomphlett, Laira Green, Oreston, Wembury and Goosewell. A big well done to the 9 gymnastic leaders from Coombe Dean who all contributed to make the morning a great success.
