Level 2 – Cyclocross Event

Wow! What an exciting day. The children had a great time at the Level 2 Cyclocross event on Tuesday. We were extremely proud of the children’s determination and super sportsmanship during this event.

Here is a message from the organiser:

“On Tuesday the 24th of September 2019, the Level 2 Cyclocross event was held at King George V Playing Fields in Elburton. 10 teams took part in the event from 9 schools across the City.

All the children had a great time and showed amazing sportsmanship making the event very enjoyable and fun. The fields were initially quite wet from overnight thunder and lightning but as the day progressed the field dried up and the weather was beautiful.

Each school raced against themselves and the children who came in the same position across the others schools would race together in the next round of races, so all the children who came first in their school, would race against the other children who came first in the other schools and same for second place and so on.

All the results can be found below, but a massive well done to our top 4 teams: Wembury, Compton, Bickleigh Down and Elburton. These teams have now qualified to attend the Level 3 Go Ride event, which will be held on the 26th March 2020 at Haldon Forest.

Well done to all the riders and thank you to Jonathan Tutte for supporting the event and designing the track which all the riders enjoyed going around.”
