Level 2 - Cross Country Competition

On Thursday 17th October 2019, 6 children from Key Stage Two attended a Cross Country Competition at Staddiscombe. As usual, their behaviour and attitude was excellent and they should all be proud of their achievements. Altogether there were eight races which included two Year 3/4 races for the girls, two Year 3/4 four races for the boys, two Year 5/6 races for the girls and two Year 5/6 races for the boys.

Here is a message from the organiser of the event:

34 Schools competed in our annual Level 2 Cross Country event yesterday. The schools were split into Minor and Major teams and ran in their year group/ category.

The weather held off for all the races with a little shower during the results presentation. Every runner did fantastically, trying their best and saving a bit of energy towards the end for some sprint finishes.

It was lovely to see the amount of support and cheering from their teammates when they saw them running around the corner for the last leg of the course.”

Cross Country Warm-Up Event

On 2nd October, children in KS2 had a brilliant time at the cross-country warm-up event. The children were all determined to beat their own personal best time. A huge well done to Oliver who came within the top ten in his category!

Here is a message from the organiser of the event:

“Our second Cross country warm up saw 18 teams race in our longest course to gain vital points for their team. Every runner did incredibly well to complete the course with some fantastic sprint finishes.

The atmosphere was incredible, and it was lovely to see the support of teammates when they saw their friend run through the gate towards the last lap of the course.

A huge well done to all our top three runners to cross the line and a big thank you to the leaders from Coombe Dean for all your support with the course. We will see you at the next warm up!”
