Cross Country

Picture 1
On Thursday 18th October 2018, 8 children from Year 4 and Year 6 took part in the cross country competition at Staddiscombe. They all showed great perseverance and they were always there to cheer each other on at the finish line. As always, they were great ambassadors for the school.

Below you will find the report from the Plymouth School Sports Partnership.

The weather was on our side this year bringing a very sunny day for our Level 2 Cross Country. We had 29 schools attend, with each bringing 4-6 runners for year 3, 4, 5 and 6.

We had 8 races in total as schools were split onto minor and major categories, based on the number of pupils in KS2. For year 3/4 the race was 870m long and for year 5/6 1.7km.

Every athlete pushed themselves for the whole race in order to achieve the lowest position for their team. Medals were given out to athletes who crossed the line in the top three positions. A massive well done to all runners who completed the course, there were some very close sprint finishes!

Also a massive thank you to the sports leaders from City College who were a huge help throughout the day.

Well done to the schools who will advance to the level 3 Devon Winter Games in Torbay on the 28th March 2019, please find the list attached as a resource as well as the full results.
